Welcome to Year 4's page, where you will find relevant information about Herons and Flamingos classes.

PE days will continue to be on Tuesdays and Fridays, and Library day will still be on a Wednesday. Please ensure your child comes to school with their library book and reading record.

At the end of Term 4, Year 4 enjoyed learning about Jackson Pollock during our Legacy Day. We created individual artworks before going out onto the field and creating a group artwork, in the style of the original artist.

In maths this term, we will be learning about decimals in number, and money. We will learn about numbers with up to two decimal places, as well as learning to count up and down in hundredths, convert from pence to pounds, and divide numbers by 10 and 100.

In Science, our Big Question is ‘What is an Electrical Circuit?’. We will be learning about how circuits conduct electricity, which components you need in order for a circuit to work, and which every day items conduct or insulate electricity. We will also be building our own circuits using bulbs, switches and buzzers.

In Geography, our Big Question is ‘How does the Amazon support life on Earth?’ We will be finding the world's tropical rainforests on maps, will learn about important human and physical features of Brazil, as well as key features of the Amazon Rainforest, and finally, we will learn about the people living in the rainforest.
