Oracy Curriculum

Ensuring that all our children develop into 'Ambitious Communicators' is one of our 5 curriculum drivers. We have designed a high quality oracy curriculum which supports and empowers students, regardless of their background, to find their voice for success in school and in life. Oracy is woven into all aspects of our curriculum as well as being a specific focus during our 'no pen' days.

Each classroom reflects a learning culture that develops children's talking roles and confidence in being Instigators, Probers, Challengers, Clarifiers, Summarisers and Builders. Pupils feel safe to articulate ideas and thoughts; to collaborate with peers who value their responses; and have the confidence to express views which are vital life skills.

Teachers use a range of strategies to empower pupils to be highly confident contributing to class discussions.
