PE Curriculum
"You miss 100% of the shots you don't take" - Wayne Gretzky
At St. Bart's we want all our children to be Healthy Ambassadors.
We want them to understand the importance of looking after themselves by eating healthy foods and exercising regularly. It is important that as a school family, we notice and nurture the mental health and well being of ourselves and others. Research shows that participation in sports is associated with higher levels of wellbeing for young people. It is also proven to promote self-belief and mental toughness.
It is our intention for all pupils to receive high-quality PE and learning opportunities that lead children to achieving their personal best. We work towards encouraging children to make healthier lifestyle choices, develop key life skills and to show excellent sportsmanship. We aim for all children to be physically active for sustained periods during the school week. We also aspire for all children to swim at least 25 metres before leaving primary school.
Examples of how we are ambitious in providing children with a range of exciting and innovative sporting experiences can be found by clicking here.
