In accordance with The Department for Education we aim to actively promote British values in schools to ensure young people leave school prepared for life in modern Britain. Pupils are encouraged to regard people of all faiths, races and cultures with respect and tolerance and understand that while different people may hold different views about what is ‘right’ and ‘wrong’, all people living in England are subject to its law.

The DfE sets education within the context of the social, moral, spiritual and cultural development of pupils and society. It acknowledges that education should not be restricted to a narrow academic curriculum, but also provide pupils with opportunities to explore and develop their own values, beliefs and spiritual awareness. It emphasises the importance of encouraging high standards of personal behaviour, a positive, caring attitude towards other people, an understanding of the social and cultural traditions of others and an appreciation of the diversity and richness of other cultures.
As a Church of England School, the Christian ethos and commitment which underpins the whole life and work of the School is endorsed in the Mission and Vision Statements and is included in the aims of the School.
