What is Rotakids?
Rotakids is an after school club for children to come together and plan activities and events to help our school, our community and national charities. Each week the children meet together to plan and organise an event for the term. The club is supported by Royal Wootton Bassett and District Rotary club alongside Miss Wallace. The Rotakids follow this special promise:
To be fair to all,
To serve my community,
To show respect for others.
Term 1- Cake Sale for Dementia
The Rotakids were very busy this term preparing their first fund raising activity. After a long discussion, the children decided that they would like to hold a cake sale to raise money for Dementia Friends and Alzheimer's Society. The children spent last week baking cakes and cookies, decorating their creations and then selling them all on Friday 9th October. All their hard work paid off as the cake sale raised £118.00 for Dementia Friends. Thank you to everyone who donated their time, cakes and money towards this event. Well done to all the Rotakids on a successful first fundraiser!
Term 2- Christmas Fayre
The Rotakids supported the School Christmas Fayre by holding a "Pin the nose on Olaf" and "How many sweets in Jar."
Term 3 and Term 4
The children have been busy doing some small and large projects. We have Spring cleaned the library, prepared an assembly to present our work from this year and planning a Bake Off competition to raise money for the Radio-therapy Unit at Great Western Hospital.
