Thanks to your generosity, St Bartholomew’s has recently been awarded certificates for raising £702 for Children in Need with our Spotacular dress-up day and bake sale and £212 for Save the Children with our Christmas jumper day. All the children looked super in their spotty outfits and festive jumpers. They certainly knocked spots off Pudsey who came to visit on the day!
To give you an idea of the impact this money will have:
Children in Need supports the Devizes Opportunity Centre, which provides specialist speech and language support to young children with disabilities and life-limiting conditions. This helps them to communicate better, make new friends and improve their confidence.
Children in Need also supports Jamie’s Farm in Box, which offers farming residential trips and therapy for hard to reach disadvantaged young people. This helps them to feel calmer, happier and better able to express their feelings. Swindon Academy has benefited from this project and has talked about bringing the ethos and values of Jamie’s Farm back to their school.
Save the Children is dedicated to helping some of the most deprived children around the world in more than 120 countries.
We are very proud to support the important work these charities do and thank you for your generous donations, which have enabled us to do this.
