This year the theme of aspiration week was 'pursuing adventure and creativity'!
We enjoyed modern dance workshops by Miss Black - this was also to recognise and celebrate the achievements of Team England in their place at the Dance World cup with our very own pupil, Melody. We also had talks about Poland and Polish dancing sessions in EYFS and KS1 and Mrs Payne taught the pupils in KS1 Zumba!
Visiting adults came in and spoke about their careers in medicine, photography, the RAF and teaching. They also shared experiences of working abroad, travelling adventures, how they had followed career paths and how they were achieving their ambitions.
Mr Ford, from the Academy spoke to KS2 about his adventures, expeditions, overcoming difficulties to reach goals and finding adventure.
Every class engaged in a very creative curriculum for the week - lots of art, music, design and technology and were totally absorbed in their new topics.
All the classes also had the opportunity to have a session with another teacher from their phase, to hear about the teacher's own life experiences, ambitions, career path, travel opportunities and so on.
The pupils learned about entrepreneurs and people who have overcome great adversity to achieve amazing things.
The week was rounded off with an amazing music concert, organised by Mrs Marchment, to showcase and celebrate the achievements of young musicians in our school - everything from vocal duets to upbeat drumming solos. Fantastic performances from all!
Y6 are looking forward to having an engineering session of bridge building with Hochtief this week to round off aspiration week for them.
A busy, exciting and, we hope, inspiring week for all!
