Our story today was 'Be Like Me', the fifth story about children playing their part in the Bible and based on Matthew 18. In it, Jennai, now an old man, is looking back on his childhood, to the time when he met Jesus. Jesus' disciples were squabbling amongst themselves about which of them was the most important. Jesus called Jennai forward, and told the disciples that if they wanted to get into the kingdom of heaven they needed to be more humble, like this young child, and that all children were important to God. Jennai was so surprised to discover that even though he was just a young lad, he was precious to God.
We had three helpers, who played the part of the squabbling disciples, with a little help from the audience of EYFS, KS1 and Year 5s.
